Two Local Non-Profits Team Up To Provide Winter Coats For Kids

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Thousands of needy children have received new winter coats thanks to a pair of charitable groups.

Some of the kids could barely contain their excitement after trying on their brand new coats.

"We'll be nice and warm in our warm, fluffy jackets. We're lucky to get these jackets."

The jackets are courtesy of Operation Warm. Vice President of Community relations Cydney Dasent says her group has partnered with the Salvation Army to warm a lot of children throughout the greater Philadelphia area.

"We raised money and provided 15,000 coats and worked with them to provide the distribution."

And the coats come just in time with sub-freezing temperatures in store for the next few days.
