DEPTFORD Twp., N.J. (CBS) – South Jersey authorities hope to crack a 35-year-old murder case with the offer of a $10,000 reward
October 30th, 1975. 17-year-old Patrick O’Neill is murdered inside his Deptford Township home, it’s believed, by people who had been burglarizing the place as O’Neill returned from school.
Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean Dalton says the family’s kicked in $2,000 toward that reward offer with the rest coming from his office and township police.
“We continue to pursue this case and we’re hoping, with some information from the public, we’ll get the evidence we need, in order to hold the people responsible,” said Dalton.
And yes, Dalton concedes it’s possible the killer may be dead at this point, but O’Neill’s family, particularly his brother Michael, just want closure.
If you have information related to this case, please contact the Gloucester County Prosecutor or Deptford Police.
