NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say three New Jersey brothers have been arrested for allegedly selling baby formula stolen from retail stores in several southern states.

Paul Fishman, the U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, says the formula was being sold out of the Los Hermanos grocery store in Union City.

Arrested were brothers Hamad Siyam, 42, Ali Siyam, 49, both of North Bergen, and Rawhi Siyam, 44, of West New York.

Others part of the alleged ring were arrested in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

The Siyam brothers were each charged with one count of conspiracy to receive and sell stolen baby formula, and one count of conspiracy to launder money. Ali Siyam was charged with trying to avoid federal reporting requirements.
