Electric Cars To Headline Philly Auto Show

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philadelphia International Auto Show is just two weeks away, but the buzz about the arrival of the annual event already has begun.

Kevin Mazzucola, executive director of the Auto Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia, the show sponsor, says the Chevy Volt and others of its kind will take center stage.

"You see technology again solidifying and taking an extra leap in regards to hybrids - now plug-in hybrids - and the fact that gasoline prices aren't going down, MPG (miles per gallon) is a very important aspect at the top of the consumer's list as far as quantifying what they're going to buy."

Mazzucola also says for the first time ever, during the second weekend of the show there will be ride-and-drive opportunities offered by Toyota and Kia.

The show opens Friday, January 29th and runs through Sunday, February 6th at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
