Another Republican Running For Montco Commissioner

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA (CBS) - Another Republican candidate has thrown her hat into the ring in the Montgomery County Commissioners race.

Frustrated with the direction county government has been moving over the last three years, Jury Commissioner Marie Cavanaugh plans to seek the endorsement of the Republican Committee.  The North Wales resident says this year's election is all about trust, something the three current commissioners haven't been able to achieve.  "I'd like to bring some peace and order and a cool head and, um, see if we can't improve upon what's going on right now."

Cavanaugh hopes to be a running mate with County Commissioner Bruce Castor who is expected to get the party's endorsement.  She believes jealousy, greed and spite have been pervasive on the board and the will of the voters has been ignored.  Lower Merion Commissioner Jenny Brown has also announced her intention to run.
