Police Charge Mother In Infant's Death

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The mother of an infant who died of starvation at a West Philadelphia homeless shelter has been arrested.

Police say 32-year-old Tanya Williams is facing murder and child endangerment charges in connection with the death of her two-month-old son Quasir Alexander.

He was rushed to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia after being found unresponsive at the Traveler's Aid shelter in the 100 block of 49th Street on December 23rd.

An autopsy revealed the boy died of dehydration and starvation, and police consider the death a homicide.
