PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia convenience store employee was rushed to the hospital after being slashed by a knife-wielding robber early Wednesday morning.
The incident happened at about 1:10 a.m. at the 7-Eleven store located in the 2900 block of S. 70th Street in Southwest Philadelphia.
The 25-year-old employee told police the suspect entered the store armed with a knife and told the victim to give him money or he would kill him.
The suspect slashed the employee in the face with the knife and then fled the store with an unknown amount of cash.
The employee was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is listed in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a black male between 5’5”-5’10” and was wearing all black clothing and a black mask.
Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance video. Anyone with information is urged to dial 911.
