Bernie Wilson, Stella Alberts Die

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Two notables from Philadelphia and the local entertainment world have passed away.

Bernie Wilson, 64, the baritone who produced some of the biggest hits for Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes (pictured) passed away early Sunday in Voorhees, New Jersey after suffering a heart attack and stroke.

Wilson was credited with the 1972 hit by the late Teddy Pendergrass, "If You Don't Know Me By Now" and other hits such as,  "Wake Up Everybody," and "The Love I Lost."

Funeral arrangements for Wilson are still pending.

Meanwhile, Stella Alberts has died at the age of 80, in Florida.

Stella had been married to Al Alberts for 55 years and had been producer of his former 6ABC show Al Alberts Showcase from its inception.
