CHERRY HILL, NJ (CBS) – Christmas is three days away.  By design or by circumstance, many people don’t get their Christmas trees until the last minute.

One woman says she has her Christmas tree, “It’s been up for a few weeks.”

She’s got hers, and most people already do. But not everyone.

Dave Henry, who runs a Christmas tree lot at Routes 561 and 295 in Cherry Hill, says the busiest days for him are the two weekends before Christmas.

But Henry says some people wait until the day before Christmas to choose their Douglas or Fraser fir, because it’s tradition. “Yeah, it really is.  And then they decorate it all on Christmas Eve and they say Santa decorated it.”

Those who are waiting in the hopes of getting a fresher tree aren’t doing themselves any favors.  Henry says they’re not expecting any new pre-cut trees on the lot.
