Uncertainty With Revoked Foxwoods License

HARRISBURG (CBS) - The Gaming Control Board has revoked Foxwoods' license and now it seems a real possibility that license could end up going either someplace else or nowhere at all.

The state gaming law designated two stand alone casinos for Philadelphia, but with the license for Foxwoods now in limbo, lawmakers in both the House and Senate are preparing legislation that would open the license up to competition statewide.

Erik Arneson, spokesman for Senate Majority Leader and Chester Republican Dominic Pileggi, said Pileggi is open to that idea or to possibly not reassigning that license at all.

"Senator Pileggi is willing to have a conversation about the location of the license, and in fact, he's willing to have discussions about whether or not there's even a market for this license at this point," said Arneson.

A spokesman for Sam Smith, who is expected to become the next speaker of the House, said Smith is also willing to consider relocating or scrapping the license.
