Over the past 18 years, WIP’s Wing Bowl has become one of the most celebrated radio events in the world. Contestants are selected based on their ability to complete challenging eating stunts and then compete to eat the most chicken wings at WIP’s Wing Bowl. PJ Whelihans is the official supplier of wings for WIP Wing Bowl 19, their fourth consecutive year as sponsor and supplier.
Five time champion Bill “El Wingador” Simmons announced he will once again compete for the coveted title of Wing Bowl Champion. Recent two-time defending champion Jonathan “Super Squibb” will also compete. All other eaters will be qualified through approved on-air stunts during the 610 WIP Morning Show, heard weekdays from 5:30-10:00 AM or on site “Wing-Offs.”
“Wing Bowl 19 promises to be one of the most unpredictable and exciting Wing Bowls in the event’s 19-year history,” said Cataldi, who co-founded Wing Bowl with radio partner Al Morganti. “With close to $100,000 in prizes, including a $20,000 grand prize, this will be one of the richest competitive-eating events ever held. Jonathan Squibb, a two-time undefeated champion, will face his toughest test ever, the comeback of five-time winner Bill “El Wingador” Simmons. Add to that 25 other crazed eaters, 100 beautiful women and some of the wildest and zaniest floats, and you’ve got the makings of the most spectacular Wing Bowl ever.”
WIP Wing Bowl 19 features selected eaters, nearly 20,000 listeners in attendance cheering them on, and members of the world-wide media to chronicle the event. Nearly 30 competitors will attempt to eat the most wings for prizes and glory.
