PHA Moving Forward With New Interim Director

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The new interim executive director of the Philadelphia Housing Authority addresses the public at a ribbon cutting during his first week on the job.

Philadelphia Housing Authority board chairman John Street introduced Michael Kelly, the agency's new interim executive director at a ribbon cutting marking the completion of a 340 home renovation project.

Street commented on Kelly's predecessor Carl Greene, who was fired amidst allegations of sexual harassment. He said, "We did have a more than a little bump in the road with Mr. Greene and I'm not trying to minimize it because I think it was very, very serious but I don't think it compromises all the great work that he did over the years."

So how does Kelly plan to restore the morale of the PHA? "We at the top need to listen a little bit more to the folks who are actually in the field.  I have no doubt that we'll be able to show the public that the Philadelphia Housing Authority is strong and it continues to provide a very valuable resource to its clients."
