Police Investigate Brewerytown Double Homicide

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are investigating a double homicide in the Brewerytown section of the city Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities say a man and a woman in their 20s were found dead from multiple gunshot wounds inside a second-floor apartment in the 3000 block of Redner Street. Investigators said both victims were shot at least nine times after they were apparently forced to the ground.

The unidentified victims were pronounced dead at the scene at about 2:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Several people are being questioned by police in connection to the double murder.

"Several males were seen coming in to the property and then running out and leaving in some type of vehicle," Capt. James Clark said.

Sources say the apartment where the male and female were found was littered with all types of drug paraphernalia.

The incident remains under investigation.
