BOSTON (AP) — Chris Fouch scored 27 points and Gerald Colds 14 to lift Drexel to a 63-58 victory over Northeastern in the opening game of the Boston Tip-Off Classic on Saturday.
Drexel (5-1, 1-0 Colonial Athletic Association) grabbed the lead midway into the first half and never trailed again.
The Dragons, who opened a nine-point lead in the first half, led 33-31 at intermission.
Chaisson Allen led the Huskies (2-4, 0-1) with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
The game was tied three times in the second half, but the Huskies were never able to move in front. They closed it to one point six times in the final 20 minutes, the last at 52-51 on Jonathan Lee’s layup with 9 1/2 minutes to play.
Fouch followed with a layup and a 3-pointer to help the Dragons hold on.
