'Drive-Off' Black Friday Deals At South Philadelphia Auto Mall

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A free 32-inch flat-screen HDTV is an unlikely deal at any of the malls. But if you were shopping near the auto mall in South Philadelphia, there's a chance you may have drove away with a sweet deal.

"This year we're running a free TV with every vehicle purchased," said Pacifico general Manager Tom Flynn.

It was a thumbs-up deal, to customers who came out for that very reason. "I knew they had 0% financing and I knew there was a free TV included," said auto shopper Linda Donnelly.

After checking out the showroom, Donnelly decided on a new Mazda 5. Within a matter of minutes, she signed the paperwork and was ready to head home.

"I thought there might be more people out, but they're at the malls and we're staying far away from there," said Donnelly.

Michael Mancini says he could care less about the crowds.

"I'm looking for a bargain to tell you the truth," said Mancini. Truth is, at 85-years-old, Mancini says he doesn't understand all of the hype surrounding Black Friday.

"I think it's a bunch of baloney," said Mancini.

But manager Heidi Wilkens of Chapman Auto Stores says you can't deny the savings are huge. "We are discounting everything," said Wilkens. "Everything is on sale, nobody's going to walk."

Normally, Chapman Chevrolet sells about five cars a day, but due to Black Friday, workers there say they expect to double that amount and sell at least 10 cars.
