Best, Worst Places To Keep Valuables In Your Home
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- According to the FBI, every 15 seconds, a home in the United States is burglarized.
What are some of the best and worst places to hide your valuables?
CBS 3 Eyewitness News toured a Montgomery County house with investigator Kevin Ryan.
Ryan said the worst places to hide your valuables include anywhere in your master bedroom, bathrooms and closets.
Ryan offered up an industry insider tip: If you leave some money in your dresser drawer, the thief might just take it and leave instead of ransacking your house.
The good hiding spots in your home include the food pantry and a child's room inside of an old stuffed animal.
In the end, Ryan said the best place to keep your valuables is inside a bank in a safety deposit box.
