Alleged Serial Burglar Arrested In Montgomery Co.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) — Investigators in Montgomery County have arrested an alleged serial burglar.

Michael E. McMonigle, of Philadelphia, has been charged with four burglaries and one attempted burglary.

Investigators say the incidents happened between July and October in Lower Merion Township.

Following the 26-year-old’s arrest, police searched two Philadelphia residences and uncovered a large amount of jewelry and several other stolen items.

Detectives also canvassed pawn brokers in the region and recovered additional jewelry stolen during the burglaries.

McMonigle is also being charged with additional offenses by the Philadelphia Police Department associated with burglaries in the Chestnut Hill section of the city.
