Jewish Relief Agency Celebrates 10 Years Of Community Service

PHILADELPHIA( CBS) - The Jewish Relief Agency is celebrating a milestone. This year, the JRA turns ten.

Executive director of the Jewish Relief Agency Amy Kerulik (pictured, left) says, "The Jewish Relief Agency is the largest hunger relief agency serving the Philadelphia Jewish community. We are currently providing food support for just under 2,900 families in the five-county Philadelphia area, Southern New Jersey and Northern Delaware with the help of an enthusiastic crew of over 11,000 volunteers."

Listen to Hadas Kuznits' interview with Amy Kerulik and Rabbi Schmidt:

Co-founder Rabbi Menachim Schmidt (pictured, right) says they've come a long way in a decade.

Rabbi Schmidt says, "Marc Earlbaum and I started with three people and I think 12 recipients and it's really grown. It's amazing!"

He says he's learned a lot in the past ten years, "One of the lessons from JRA is the importance that each person has and what a tremendous difference that each person can make. There are so many things that a person can do if you just put your mind to it and just know that you can make a huge difference!"
