8 Mile Stretch Of Pa. Turnpike Closing Sunday Morning

HARRISBURG (CBS) -An eight-mile stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike will be closed early Sunday morning to replace signs.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission says the road will be closed in both directions early Sunday between Willow Grove (Exit #343) and Bensalem (Exit #351). The closure is needed to erect overhead sign structures at two spots in Bensalem Township, Bucks County.

At 12:01 a.m. Sunday morning, motorists traveling eastbound on the turnpike must exit at the Willow Grove Interchange and westbound traffic will be diverted off at the Bensalem (or old Philadelphia) Interchange. The Pennsylvania Turnpike mainline will reopen by 6 a.m. Sunday.

Meanwhile, weather permitting, the turnpike is to be closed westbound early Sunday between the New Stanton and Irwin exits in the western part of the state.
