BLOG: Whale of a Sale this Saturday

By Jim Donovan: The Junior League of Wilmington’s 30th annual Whale of a Sale, will be held this Saturday, Nov. 6, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Shipyard Shops (former Vanity Fair Outlet store at 1054 Justison St.) on the Riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware.

The Whale of a Sale is the biggest “garage” sale in Delaware featuring gently-used items, including furniture, appliances, clothes, computer equipment, electronics, books, children’s toys and holiday decorations, which are sold at bargain prices.

Proceeds support the Junior League of Wilmington’s work with the West End Neighborhood House, a local not-for-profit agency, dedicated to helping children who are aging out of the foster care system. The Junior League of Wilmington has been instrumental
in helping mentor these young adults with a series of life-skills seminars as well as continuing to help refurbish, landscape and maintain the West End Neighborhood’s five residences.
