'Boil Water' Advisory Lifted In Winslow Township

(CBS) - Winslow township officials have lifted a "boil water" advisory, after testing found E. coli levels are no longer dangerous.

But before drinking tap water, Township manager Joe Gallagher advises residents to take these precautions:

"Run your water faucets for three to five minutes, empty and clean ice makers and water chillers and make sure reservoirs in tall buildings are drained and refilled."

Gallagher says officials still don't know what made E. coli levels spike late last week, but he says they're trying to insure it doesn't happen again, "We're going to continue to test and make sure all of our levels of chlorine are sufficient and monitor the situation as closely as possible and if they have any kind of action plan for us, the D.E.P. will give us that as well."

Gallagher says township schools will be open as normal, tomorrow.
