Blue Buffalo Voluntary Pet Food Recall

Philadelphia (CBS) -- Blue Buffalo, a pet food company, has recently issued a voluntary recall of several of their products due to potentially unsafe levels of Vitamin D caused by a supplier error. Blue Buffalo has required that these particular products with certain codes be removed from retailers' shelves.

These products and their codes are:

Blue Wilderness Chicken for Dogs, (4.5 pound bag, 11 pound and 24 pound bags)
Codes: JUL1211B, JUL1311B, JUL2611Z, JUL2711Z, JUL2811Z

Blue Basics Salmon for Dogs, (11 pound bag and 24 pound bags)
Codes: AUG2111B, AUG2211B

Blue Large Breed (Chicken) for Adult Dogs (30 pound bag)
Codes: SEP 22 11 P, SEP 23 11 P, OCT 26 11 P

If you have any of these products mentioned above with these specific codes, stop feeding immediately.

If your dog has shown any adverse reaction to the recalled products, have him checked by your veterinarian. Typical symptoms might include excessive water intake and/or excessive urination, and in some cases vomiting. Blue Buffalo will reimburse any veterinary or testing expenses related to illness caused by these products.
