For kids, it’s the closest thing to Christmas morning.

They spring out of bed, rush over to the window, then marvel at the snow fall. They are bursting with anticipation and excitement… wondering if the snowfall will result in a snow day.

With guidance from the Ohio Department of Education, one rural school district will require its students to complete online classes on their day off.

The experiment, which could become the state standard, aims to cut back on calamity days, which are often made up at the end of the year.
