SugarHouse Casino Issues Statement On Alleged Attack

CINNAMINSON (CBS) -- Cinnaminson Police are still looking for the two men captured on surveillance video, suspected of trying to rob a man after he won about $2,000 from SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia.

"His guard was down," said Cinnaminson Detective Sgt. Bill Covert, referring to the 26-year-old victim. "He was talking on the cell phone."

Covert says the victim, whose name has not been released, was likely talking about his winnings to someone on his cell phone Saturday morning. Police think the men who targeted the victim probably overheard his conversation.

When the victim got out of the cab he took home to Cinnaminson, he told police two black men with handguns yelled at him to 'give it up.'

The victim eventually fought of the attackers, kept his cash, and only suffered a head injury.

On Tuesday SugarHouse Casino issued this statement: "SugarHouse Casino is cooperating fully with Cinnaminson Police Department as they investigate this alleged incident. As you might expect, further details would need to come from the police department. It is important to note that this alleged incident did not occur on casino property."

The suspects were last seen driving a Gold colored 4-door Chevy Impala. If you have any information that can help police call 856-829-6667 Ext 22.
