Positively Philadelphia: A Philly Girl Among Jersey Boys

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- "Jersey Boys," the award-winning musical that tells the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, is now playing at The Forrest Theatre. Among all the boys in the play is a girl who spent summers at the Jersey shore but grew up in Northeast Philadelphia.

"I'm an honorary Jersey girl, always a Philly girl first. So many people say, 'You know, Alayna, you can take the girl out of Philly but you can't take the Philly out of the girl.' I'm like, 'Yeah, I know, I know.' "

Alayna Gallo plays Lorraine (center of photo), one of the girlfriends of Frankie Valli. But she plays 16 other roles as well.

"The opening change for me, I run off stage left, I have to do a crossback behind the stage, into the stage right booth. As I'm crossing I'm taking things off, jumping in, jumping out of a wig, into another, into my shoes, everything else. And then I have to go right back on stage."

She's been away working and auditioning in New York, and performing around the world for years, and she can't get over how Philadelphia has changed.

"It's changed so much, and for the better."

The cast loves it here in Philadelphia as well.

"Everyone is so excited that Philly is such a great city. I think I want to stay longer. I don't want to leave!"

That's Positively Philadelphia!
