Service Resumes After Woman Killed By SEPTA Train In SW Philly
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- SEPTA is reporting that a woman was struck and killed by a Regional Rail train this morning in Southwest Philadelphia.
The accident resulted in suspension of service on the Media-Elwyn regional rail line (the former R-3) for more than 90 minutes.
The accident happened around 10 AM. Philadelphia police and SEPTA police were on the scene.
SEPTA says it is uncertain how the accident happened. The woman was struck by an inbound train just south of the 49th Street station. The investigation was continuing.
