Obama, Biden In Philadelphia on Sunday For Voter Rally

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Vice President Joe Biden is joining President Barack Obama at a rally in Philadelphia this weekend that aims to invigorate Democratic voters ahead of two crucial statewide races.

Obama announced last week that he would be joined Sunday by US Senate candidate Joe Sestak and gubernatorial candidate Dan Onorato. The president said Thursday that Biden will make the trip to Philadelphia, too.

The rally is at a park next to Robert Fulton Elementary School in the city's Germantown section.   It is open to the public.
SEPTA says it is adding capacity on some Regional Rail line trains and bolstering some bus service on Sunday to serve riders travelling to see President Obama during his visit to Philadelphia.

Extra capacity will be added to regularly scheduled trains on the Chestnut Hill East and Chestnut Hill West lines. The Germantown Station on the Chestnut Hill East Line is the closest rail stop to the school, at 60 East Haines Street (about two blocks). Septa says that customers can also use the Chestnut Hill West line to either the Chelten or Tulpehocken stations and walk north to the school or transfer to a SEPTA bus.

Additional buses will be added to routes 23 and 65 for extra service. Bus routes J, K, XH, 18, and 26 also provide service near the school.

SEPTA also warned customers travelling in the area on Sunday to be on alert for possible delays or road closures.

Obama was in Philadelphia twice in recent weeks, once for a private fundraiser for Sestak and once to deliver an annual back-to-school presidential pep talk.

The election is November 2nd.
