Phils Delivering Grub So You Don't Miss A Pitch

PHILADELPHIA (KYW NEWSRADIO 1060) -- Phillies fans at Citizens Bank Park can now order ballpark food on their cell phones and have it delivered right to their seats.

KYW's Mike DeNardo reports that there's no more missing the action because you're waiting in line for a roast pork.  The Phillies and Aramark launched the "Fan Direct" service on Monday.

Fans use the MLB "At Bat" app on their iPhones, punch in their seat location and a credit card number, and Ashburn Alley favorites like Tony Luke's cheesesteaks or Planet Hoagies are packaged with chips and a brownie and delivered to their seats.   A cheesesteak package is $12, delivery included.

Aramark's regional director of operations is Brian Hastings:

"From our testing over this past couple of days, we know the average delivery time is about ten minutes.  But the application actually says 'Please allow for 30 minutes.'"

A manager, two dedicated cooks and six runners are staffing the operation. Citizens Bank Park is Aramark's first big-league venue to have the service. Hastings says developers are working on expanding the app to other smartphone platforms.
