Philadelphia has been named one of the best travel destinations for gay and lesbian travelers.
KYW’s Karin Phillips reports Philadelphia has been named a “Best US Destination” by LOGO, the gay and lesbian TV network. An international panel of travel journalists made up the list, which also includes Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Provincetown and San Francisco.
Jeff Guaracino, spokesman for the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation, says Philadelphia stands out because of its historic attractions, friendliness and gay nightlife.
“We are not surprised because Philadelphia is a town that people are discovering and we are welcoming and we offer a great travel, in fact, an excellent travel value to travelers all over.”
Travelers can vote online for their favorite destination among the six contenders through October 18th. To vote for Philadelphia, go to visitphilly.com/gay.
