Former New Jersey Lawmaker Promotes Area Hospital

A prominent resident and former state lawmaker in New Jersey lent his name to a fundraiser to benefit Cooper University Hospital Monday night.  The event marked the one-year anniversary of a life-altering bike accident by Lee Solomon.

KYW's Kim Glovas reports Lee Solomon, former Camden County freeholder, state legislator, and Deputy United States Attorney in New Jersey, hosted the event and hailed the trauma team which may have saved his life. He choked up at one point when talking about his family:

"I really had trouble dealing with the fact, that something happened to me, and even had I gotten better physically,  I might have been effected in a way and I never would have a chance to tell them how much I loved them, how they mean more to me than my life."

Solomon was hospitalized for more than three weeks last year after he was thrown from his bicycle, and suffered a severe brain injury. He credited Doctor Steven Ross, the head of the trauma unit, and his team with making him whole again.
