Phila.'s DA Awarded USA Eisenhower Fellowship

Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams this week was honored with a prestigious USA Eisenhower Fellowship, which will allow him to travel to Ireland and Australia next year to study and learn from their criminal justice systems.

KYW's Tony Hanson reports DA Seth Williams (photo) joins over 1800 Fellows from 108 countries selected since 1953, when the organization was established as a birthday tribute to President Dwight D. Eisenhower:

"I was beside myself when I was nominated and I'm just honored and humbled to have received the Fellowship. I think it speaks to my parents always telling me to always work hard in school and that education never stops."

And in his future foreign classrooms:

"I hope to find some of their best practices so that we can reduce conflict, reduce violence, and improve public safety in Philadelphia."

Williams says he will make two separate trips so as not to be away from Philadelphia and his family for too long at one time.
