Flyer Legend Helping Raise Money for Local PAL

Time is running out if you want to own a piece of Philadelphia sports history. Former Flyers goalie Bernie Parent is teaming up with a suburban youth organization to help raise badly-needed funds.

KYW’s Brad Segall reports that the NHL hall of famer who played between the pipes when the Flyers won the Stanley Cup twice in the mid-seventies donated his former locker stall from the Spectrum to the Greater Norristown Police Athletic League.

Parent says the three-foot wide by three-foot deep locker holds many memories of his greatest years on the ice and calls it a one-of-a-kind item that would be a conversation piece in your home:

“You know, it’s something that not everybody has one or you have like two thousand people have one. I think it’s a unique piece that I think a good hockey fan would be proud to have.”

You can enter a raffle at the organization’s website. Proceeds will benefit  programs and facilities. The winner will be drawn Thursday night at the Plymouth Country Club and Parent says he’ll be glad to sign the locker.
