The city of Philadelphia is holding a happy hour this week in Old City for bloggers who are upset with fees and taxes that in some cases more money is going out than coming in.
KYW’s John McDevitt reports it’s being called the bloggergate happy hour:
Gary Steuer is the chief cultural officer for the city of Philadelphia and the director of the Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy:
“Certainly nobody wants a situation where people, who are making a tiny amount of income, are having to pay fees or taxes that exceed the amount of income that they’re making. So the city is certainly interested in getting ideas in looking at some creative ways that we can find to avoid that situation.”
The happy hour will be held on Wednesday at National Mechanics located at 22 South 3rd Street from 5pm-7pm.
And bring your wallet:
“No we are not picking up the tab. It’s a cash bar.”
