KYW's Karin Phillips reports the art is created using original wood cuts and silkscreen on fabric and paper - Gulf Ghosts and Creature Comforts - inspired by media images and news accounts of the BP oil spill.

Philadelphia silkscreen artist Wendy Osterweil's work also includes silhouettes of everyday items that are made with petroleum:

"It is really a microcosm of obviously a larger way that we're ravaging the earth because we think we need all these things.  Driven by economy, politics and our dependence on oil."

A free and open to the public reception and talk will be held September 15th at 5pm at the Holy Family University art gallery, 9801 Frankford Avenue, in the lower level of the Education and Technology Building.

The exhibit's up through September 23rd.
