Philadelphia police say a wallet and some identification cards that were left at the scene of an attempted rape on Sunday night on the edge of Chinatown may help investigators track down the suspect.
KYW’s Steve Tawa reports that police officials say the 22-year-old victim was waiting for a bus at 8th and Race, across the street from police headquarters, when a man grabbed her around the neck and tried to drag her into a nearby subway station.
Two video surveillance cameras caught someone, apparently pantless, running from the scene.

The woman screamed, causing a passerby to dial 911. The man fled at the sound of arriving police sirens, running through a nearby parking lot but leaving behind his pants — and a wallet.
Inside the wallet was a Mexican driver’s license, but investigators were not immediately sure whether the license was legitimate or not.

(Police think the attacker may have left behind his own driver's license.)
Police add that the woman was treated at Jefferson Hospital and released, but so far they have not been able to adequately interview her about whether the man depicted in the ID was indeed her attacker.
If the license is real and if it belongs to the attacker, police are looking for Dario Gomez Lopez, 35, of Puebla, Mexico.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Philadelphia Police tipline at 215-686-TIPS.
