Swedish Company Based in Phila. Wins Ethics Award

Several local firms are on a list of the world's most ethical companies but one, with its US headquarters in the Cira Centre, may be a bit of a mystery.

KYW's John Ostapkovich reports Campbell's, AstraZeneca, Aramark and IKEA are all on the list put out by Ethisphere but so is the Swedish paper company SCA.

Vice-President Amy Bellcourt says the firm relishes the honor, awarded now for the third time, which she traces back to its roots in European forest management, square dealing all around:

"Oftentimes, when people buy our products, they don't understand the strong company behind them because we haven't been that obvious in sharing that news. Who's the company that's making them, and what are the practices of that company. People care more about that today than in the past."

Some of SCA's highlighted practices are using 100% recycled content for the paper products it provides in the Linc, union labor, production as close as possible to client and a focus on energy efficiency and alternative power.
