Justice Dept. Investigation at Phila. School Ends

The Philadelphia School District says it's received the justice department's conclusion on a civil rights complaint filed by Asian students from a South Philadelphia high school.

KYW's Pat Loeb reports neither school nor federal officials would say what the conclusion is but the district says it is "engaged in discussions...to resolve the matter amicably."

And Superintendent Arlene Ackerman says she is "working with the department of justice to find the necessary solutions to these long-standing issues."

Asian students filed the complaint in January, one month after a day of violence at the school, in which at least 30 Asian students were attacked and beaten.

Published reports say the justice department found merit in the complaint.
