Topic: "Locally Grown." Menu: Cheesesteaks?!

To highlight the importance of local foods, Philadelphia tourism officials today were enlisting the help of a well-known caterer to teach passersby in "Love Park" (JFK Plaza) how to create their own cheesesteaks using totally local ingredients.

KYW's Karin Phillips reports that the delightful smell of grilling meat drifted over Love Park as passersby lined up for one of the 1,000 cheesesteaks created by chef Steve Poses of Frog Commissary Catering.

Poses (right) says the steaks are all organic and the ingredients come from within 100 miles of the city:

"I would challenge people to tell me that it's not one of the best cheesesteaks they've ever had, because grass-fed beef has a wonderful flavor.  We have Colby cheese that we got from Lancaster County.  We did get bread from Sarcone.  The onions are organic, the sweet and hot peppers are organic.  We'll put it up against anybody's."

Thirteen-year-old Tracey was impressed:

"It's not like all greasy and different.  It's, like, actually good."
