Philadelphia police now believe two men who robbed a woman in a center city high-rise last week may be members of a larger group responsible for three other similar crimes in the heart of the city.

KYW’s Tony Hanson reports that all the victims are women, and police hope that new video will lead to help from the public.

Last Monday a 93-year-old woman suffered a broken wrist during a $6 robbery inside a high-rise elevator at 1500 Locust Street (see related story).
Now, police lieutenant Frank Vanore says she appears to have been the fourth victim of the robbers in little more than a month.

(Persons of interest in 100 South Broad Street incident.)
Vanore says the earlier victims were an 86-year-old woman, a woman with a baby in a stroller, and a woman at an ATM machine. He says those crimes occurred on July 19th, July 26th, and August 11th:
“These guys look like they are very organized. One distracts. This woman you are going to watch on your video with the stroller is just attempting to get the door open while her stroller is here.
“These guys walk up almost like they are going to help her, and the one is after her pocketbook right away. And then he distracts her by having a conversation, and another male is walking around behind her. They are very, very calculating.
“The one where they get alone on the elevator they become physical because then there are no witnesses.”
He warns the public that they should remain aware of their surroundings at all times, and urges them to check out the video of the robbers (below). Anyone with information is urged to call police.
