What Next Winter Will Bring to the Delaware Valley

AccuWeather is out with their predictions for 2010-2011 winter season.

KYW’s Michelle Durham reports meteorologist Ken Reeves says there’s no doubt we’re going to see that four-letter word I am allowed to say on the radio: snow.

“It’s not going to be nearly as snowy as this past winter season which was just unbelievable, in some cases dubbed ‘Snowmageddon.’  But this doesn’t look quite as bad although it may get off to an early start.”

How much will we get?  Reeves says about 20 inches of snow.  Why will the snow start falling earlier?

“There is a correlation between very active hurricane seasons which we do expect for this season coming up, not unlike 1995, 2008, 2005.  That correlation really speaks toward there being a cold start across the eastern and central portion of the nation in December.”

Ushering in that snow season.
