Those at the joint military base in Burlington County, NJ can get a degree from Rutgers University, thanks to a new on-base program.

KYW’s Karin Phillips reports that starting in September at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, Rutgers Camden is offering bachelor completion programs, a graduate program in liberal studies and certificate programs in national security.

Dr. Paul Thornton, assistant dean of off-campus programs, says the new program boasts streamlined semesters, convenient class times and on-line opportunities especially, but not exclusively, for military personnel on the base:

“No one else is offering what we’re offering. We’re offering the two bachelor completion programs and they’re in the arts and sciences. We’re offering one in criminal justice and one in liberal studies.”
