Mural Arts Program Looks for Tourists' Impressions of Phila.
Philadelphia’s famed Mural Arts Program has teamed up with an organization that promotes tourism here to develop a special program focusing on visitors to our city.
KYW’s Michelle Durham reports that Bill Mifflin, executive director of Philadelphia Hospitality, says the “If These Walls Could Talk” Tour is open to people of all ages:
“They’ll have an opportunity with the Mural Arts Program to pick up a paintbrush and begin to create their own mural, which will collectively create one which will then become a mural somewhere in the city.”
Mifflin says the murals that tourists create are a wonderful gauge of the impression the city makes on visitors:
“So many of us have different impressions, different rememberances or memories of Philadelphia, so this gives us an opportunity to learn more from our constituents and our regional visitors and residents about what Philadelphia means to them.”
