Two Drexel Basketball Players Sought for Robbery

Philadelphia police public affairs says they may release more information later on Monday in connection with a robbery allegedly committed by two Drexel University basketball players.

KYW's Al Novack reports that Drexel University officials released a short statement over the weekend that says an investigation is underway and that the university is cooperating with the Southwest Detectives division of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Authorities say the two students were still being sought for questioning and note that arrest warrants have been issued for a senior and a junior in connection with the break-in that took place last Wednesday.

Detectives say they are investigating a complaint that the pair  broke into the campus apartment of a female student along Lancaster Avenue last Wednesday and   attempted to take cash.

Investigators say that when they didn't get the cash, the pair reportedly fled with a cell phone belonging to the 21-year-old victim.

The players names were not immediately released.
