A special event scheduled for August 7th will raise funds for one of Philadelphia’s historic homes.KYW’s Karin Phillips reports the tenth annual Jazz in the Garden event is scheduled for August 7th, an afternoon of music, food tours and history to benefit the Johnson House Historic Site at Germantown and Washington Lane.

“We have docents who conduct tours for public school students as well as private school students. We also have an administrator that books tours, that attends to every other operational need in the organization. And then, of course, utilities, it’s an old house.”
The Johnson House was built in 1768 by a Quaker Family and became an important stop on the Underground Railroad. For more info about Jazz in the Garden, go to johnsonhouse.org.
