gags Flyers Trade Simon Gagne to Tampa BayThe Philadelphia Flyers have traded Simon Gagne to Tampa Bay in exchange for defenseman Matt Walker and a 4th Round Pick. Gagne leaves Philly as the longest tenured Flyer after being drafted 22nd overall in 1998. Gagne played in 664 games in his tenure here, ranking 9th in team history in goals (259), 16th in assists (265), and 10th in points (524). A two-time all-star, he was awared the Bobby Clarke Trophy as the Flyers MVP twice.

    stated before carter should go gagne stay. he was a true flyer. will miss gagne really bad. he thanked the fans. thank you simon you gave us wonderful memories and should have been able to stay here and run for the cup again after all you gave to the organization.

    Salary dump or not… Got nothing for him. Walker will not make the team. AHL level talent. Would have been better off taking a fourth round and a future draft pick.

      From what I’ve been reading our junior corps needed some refreshments so this is obviously just a cap saving spot. Also, we’ve cleared up a bit of room for a potential move
