In less than 24 hours, police were called upon to control and break up two separate and unrelated crowd incidents, one of which led to three stabbings.
One incident happened on Sunday night in Old City, the other was on Saturday night in South Philadelphia.
The latest incident happened Sunday around 7pm when police say an argument broke during a Hispanic festival at Penn’s Landing and carried out into the street near Front and Market in Old City.
Police say three people were stabbed and taken to local hospitals.
A knife has been recovered. Police were interviewing a number of people but there was no immediate word of anyone being charged.
Three arrests were reported after a large crowd of teens punched and assaulted people along South Street.
Police rushed in to break up the disturbance, made arrests, and closed off several streets along an 11 block area of South Street.
