Phils Rally in the 9th, Win in 10

Aftering trailing the Central leading Reds 7-1 entering the 9th inning, the Phils scored 6 runs to send the game to extra innings, and Ryan Howard would hit a 2 run homerun in the bottom of the 10th, and the Phils beat the Reds 9-7 in game 2 of the 4 game set leading to the all star break.

Entering the 9th, the Phils bats had only seen 83 pitches from Cincy start Mike Leake, who was looking for his 1st career complete game. Shane Victorino led off with a double. Raul Ibanez would fly out, advancing Victorino to 3rd. Next batter Ryan Howard a bloop rbi single to the shallow outfield, Victorino scores, and it's now 7-2. Jayson Werth next up, he singles. #6 in the lineup, Greg Dobbs, hits a 3 run homerun, and it's 7-5 Reds.

Now with the bases empty and 1 out, catcher Brian Schneider flies out. Ben Fransico enters as a pinch hitter for Juan Castro, and draws a walk. The pitcher's spot up next, hitting for JC Romero is Cody Ransom, and he homers on an 0-1 count, and the game is knotted at 7.

Ryan Madson pitched a 1,2,3 top half of the 10th. Raul Ibanez led of the bottom half with a double. Next Batter, Ryan Howard, a 2 run walkoff homerun on a 2-1 count, and the Phils beat the Reds 9-7. Starter Joe Blanton was lit up for 6 runs on 12 hits in just 5 1/3 innings.

The 1st place Braves beat the Mets 4-2, so the Phils remain 5 1/2 games back in the NL East. Roy Halladay takes the mound in game 3 of the 4 game set Saturday night at 7:05.
