The Philadelphia Orchestra returns to the Mann Center for the Performing Arts on July 26th, 27th, and 29th.
Mann Center president Catherine Cahill says the first night features Tchaikovsky and more:
“This is one of Philadelphia’s most highly anticipated summer traditions, complete with fireworks and of course the 1812 Overture.”
The 27th, she says, is ladies’ night:
“Aretha Franklin — the Queen of Soul — will be joined by Condoleezza Rice. And it’s our gala celebration.”
The final night features a video extravaganza:
“Called ‘Planet Earth Live,’ the score is by George Fenton. And he will not only be with us but will be leading the concert from the podium as well.”
