A Bucks County, Pa. man had a hand in a summer blockbuster hitting theatres this week. “You are going to be a force for good and a very important sorcerer.”
So says Nicolas Cage as Balthazar Blake (below), the sorcerer who takes a student.

Mark Rosenthal, whose other screen credits include Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, Mona Lisa Smile and Jewel of the Nile, was part of the writing team.

As to how much of his work will be in the final version, he’ll have to head to the multiplex with everyone else:
“I’d say most writers are happiest when they’re alone and no one else is on the project and they’re working out the story because the script is all inside their head and it’s theirs. Once you start adding other production aspects to it, the writer really has no control. And film is not a writer’s medium in the end. It’s a director’s medium.”
An effects-laden clash of good and evil, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice splashes onto screens July 14th.
