Moyer Takes Down Tribe, 2-1

Phillies opened their 3 game series with the Indians by getting a 2-1 win.  Jamie Moyer pitched 8 innings allowing just 1 run on 2 hits on his way to earning his 8th win of the season. The 47-year-old Moyer is now tied with Roy Halladay for the team lead in wins.  Moyer moved into another tie in this one, the homer he allowed to Russell Branyan in the 2nd inning ties him with Robin Roberts for the most homers allowed in a career (505).

Jimmy Rollins made his return to the line up but went 0-4 at the plate as the phils offense only gave Moyer 2 runs in the first inning and that was it. Ryan Howard drove in Placido Polanco with an RBI single for the Phils first run. One batter later Jason Werth drove in Chase Utley with a Sac Fly to Center.
